When is the lacrosse season?

Lacrosse is a spring sport. Although this spring's schedule is not yet complete, practices will begin in March with the first game in late March and will conclude in May with the state championships at Memorial stadium.

What kind of protective equipment do I need?

**All players are required to have National Operating Committee on Standards for Athletic Equipment (NOCSAE) certified equipment.**

       BOYS:

  • Lacrosse Helmet (a hockey or football helmet will not work)
  • Lacrosse gloves
  • Shoulder pads
  • Slash guards (elbow pads)
  • Athletic cup
  • Rib protectors (not required, but recommended)
  • Mouthguard

      GIRLS:

  • Mouthguard
  • Lacrosse Goggles

Where can I buy lacrosse gear?

  • There are many places to buy gear. Local sporting goods stores are slowly starting to carry lacrosse equipment.  We have equipment to purchase at registration. Starter packs are available online through Great Atlantic on the website link on the home page.

Who can play for the Mukilteo Knight's Lacrosse club?

  • Well that depends on the age of the player.  At the high school level, the league has very strict team boundaries.  All varsity and junior varsity players must attend school in the Everett or Mukilteo school district.  There is some grey area for kids who go to private schools or are home schooled.  The younger levels of play are much less strict, players can pick where they want to play based upon convenience.  However, it is good to start playing and developing friendships with players from the same school district.

How much does the season cost?

  • Unfortunately, lacrosse is an expensive sport and since we are a club team there is no funding from the school district.  There are fees for the fields, jerseys, insurance, and referees to name a few of the team expenses. Each player is responsible for supplying their own gear, in addition to team dues.  This may seem high, however Mukilteo Lacrosse charges well below the average of teams in the area.  There are some teams that charge upwards of $600 per player on top of gear.  Each team has different fees and they are as follows:

    • High School Boys- $375.00
    • High School Girls - $325.00
    • 7th and 8th - $300.00
    • 5th and 6th - $225.00
    • 3rd and 4th - $200.00

                   *Scholarships are available upon request*

In addition to the team dues, every player is required to be a member of US Lacrosse .  Players can register on the US Lacrosse .

Is there a girl's lacrosse team in Mukilteo?

  • Girls High School Lacrosse started in Mukilteo in 2009!!

Can girls play on the boy's lacrosse team?

  • Absolutely!  Girls are welcome to play on the boy's team, however they will not be given special treatment in drills or in games.  Boy's lacrosse is a contact sport and the other teams will not take it easy on female members of the team so we would be doing a disservice to the girls by doing so.

What if my question is not answered here?
