WASHINGTON BOYS: Riley Wanzer Commits to Whittier College
Wanzer said he also considered Roanoke, Ithaca and Cortland before setting on the Southern California-based school.
“I did a lot of visits to the East Coast, but I prefer the West Coast because of the people and the weather,” Wanzer said. “I want to stay close to home, and Whittier’s the only school that offered me a spot on the team all four years. That was important to me.”
Wanzer said he is amped to take is game to the next level.
“I’m excited to get more serious about lacrosse,” he said. “I look forward to being affiliated with a school instead of a whole district.”

Other schools Colin was recruited by and considered were Guilford University in North Carolina, Alvernia University and Misericordia University in Pennsylvania.
Colin states “It is really quite an honor for a West Coast player to be recruited to play at the East Coast “hot bed” of Lacrosse in this country.

These outstanding young ladies have been name to the All-State 2nd team for Division II:
Alyssa Overton-Midfield
Dana Jensen-Midfield
Sierra Shaw-Attack
They will be announced in between the D2 and D1 playoff games on May 15, 2010.
